Saturday soft opening for Petworth Social Bar & Grill
/Just got the low-down on the soft opening of Petworth Social Bar & Grill at 821 Upshur Street NW. Owner Ranu Rawat is planning on opening doors at 4pm on Saturday, December 3rd.
“We’re still waiting on our final liquor licenses, and hope to have that by Friday, but our bar menu will be a little low on stock right at the beginning,” said Ranu.
When you go, you’ll find a full menu of Southern / Cajun cuisine, including:
Bayou Cajun-Maple Wings (8) – with Carrots Sticks and Ranch Dipping Sauce
Fried Catfish Fingers – Blended Cornmeal Flour, and Chef’s Seasonings served with Homemade Remoulade’
Petworth All-Day Burger – Bibb Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Applewood Bacon, Smoked Cheddar, Onion Pepper Jam on Brioche Bun
Shrimp Étouffée – Classic Louisiana Shrimp Stew Dish made with a traditional dark roux and shellfish broth served over rice
“Swamp Thing”- Shrimp and Crawfish in a Creole Mustard Sauce served over Collard Greens with Crispy Squash Blended Vegetable on top
Homemade Meatballs – with Classic Marinara Sauce, Linguini and Garlic Bread
Vegetarian Linguine – with Asparagus, Spinach, Portobello Mushroom, Onion and Tomato in a Savory White Sauce served with Garlic Bread
There’s much more on the menu, including a special kids’ menu with all the favs, from PB&J to mac and cheese, chicken fingers and more.
Also, a dessert menu that happily includes a brownie-bottom parfait (save one for me!)
The current plan is for the hours to be 7 days a week, 4pm to 10pm. They plan to offer weekend brunch after some time, and will look at lunch hours depending on feedback they get from the community.
