This year, the Celebrate Petworth Festival will be happening on September 8th from 11-5pm on the 800 block of Upshur. As in past years, businesses, organizations and individuals will be coming together to celebrate the creatively, diversity, culture, people and quality of life of our neighborhood.

Read MoreThere's whiskey, and then there's Irish Whiskey, and one man who knows the difference is Andrew Pope. Andrew hosts a monthly whiskey tasting class at Reliable Tavern (3655 Georgia Ave NW), and this month, his fourth class at the tavern, focuses on whiskeys from the fair Irish isle.
Trained volunteer observers will deploy to randomly sampled polling places across DC’s eight wards to collect data on key electoral processes throughout the day, including polling station set-up, access for disabled voters, voter identification practices, and secrecy of the vote.
This Saturday, August 25th, is the last Petworth Jazz Project of the 2018 season. It's been a great summer, with some amazing performances. This weekend's show closes out the season with Janelle Gill, a well-known jazz pianist who's played at the Kennedy Center and all over the world.
Residents near 7th and Shepherd Sts NW are putting together a block party for the neighborhood on Saturday, August 11th from 2-8pm, and it looks great.
